What a change of scenery...

How things have changed over the last couple of months. I used to often spend my weekends enjoying the bright lights of Sydney, i am so lucky to have been able to live in one of the most beautiful city's in the world. I now spend my weekends looking at the dry desert, which i sometimes feel i might be taking for granted, just like i took living in Sydney for granted. It really is amazing out here, but i need to remind myself of that. Ben and i went for a little drive yesterday afternoon and while driving through this dry country realised just how amazing it is here. I really need to just enjoy what i have and not dwell on what i don't have because one day i will be living in the city again and will look back on my time here and think about how lucky i was to have been able to experience the desert.

My artistic side...

So some of you may not know that i enjoy to paint.
Because there are no shops out here and i couldn't just go buy Ben a birthday present and also because we are getting married soon and all our money is going towards that i decided to make Ben something, and here it is.... Love Birds!

Friends...

I have the greatest friends in the whole world!

I have been really happy here in the desert but last weekend was a hard one. I really just wanted to get out of here. Ben and I both had things that we had to do for church and were on duty on Saturday night and it just felt like I couldn’t escape. I was tired and just wanted to do something 'normal' like go to the movies, go shopping with the girls or just sit in borders with Marissa like old times. There had been a lot of tears and a few moments were I wanted to leave and then my girls called me! The timing was perfect and I got to talk to them all! It was so lovely to hear their voices. Although it made me miss them even more (and a lot more tears when I hung up the phone) it was nice to know they were thinking of me. Distance can be so hard sometimes!

I hope i can grow old with you girls and maybe when we get older we will be more sun smart.
thank you so much girls for your phone call, I love you all and can’t wait to see you all again!
