the wedding day.....

It’s been awhile since my last post, I have been a little busy… So the wedding has come and gone and my honeymoon is coming to an end. I’m loving married life, although its not feeling all that different. The wedding was a fantastic day, it just went way to fast. We had a lot of family come from all over the place and we hadn’t seen them or our friends since moving to the dessert but it felt like I didn’t get a chance to talk to anyone! The morning of the wedding I felt really relaxed and I’m so glad that I got to really enjoy doing all that fun girl stuff with my girlfriends without feeling stressed about anything. There were a few things that I could have blown up about.

  1. My hair wasn’t really what I wanted, but was easily fixed when I got home.
  2. My make-up was good but she really didn’t do the best job at highlighting my features and when you are paying good money I kind of expected something that I couldn’t do at home. But once again that was easily fixed when I got home.
  3. Then…. This is kind of funny… the exact same thing happened to my sister when she got married and I remember mum running around trying to fix it before my sister saw. My flowers had gross fern all through them. I had given the florist an exact photo of what I wanted and THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY FERN IN THEM! So my wonderful bridesmaids cut and pulled the fern out. The flowers looked so much better!

The ceremony was everything I had dreamed it would be. I knew it would be tough not just for me but also for my dad to get down the isle. As I was standing waiting to walk in it all hit me…. I AM GETTING MARRIED RIGHT NOW! I pulled myself together and walked in with dad on my arm. I walked down the isle to ‘Jessica’s Theme’ from ‘The Man From Snowy River’. A special song for a couple of reasons, Dad and I used to spend our Sundays watching this movie (dad can quote every word). The other reason is, well, because my name is Jessica. I don’t remember anything that the pastor so I am very happy that there is a video I can watch. I felt as if I wasn’t really there, it was although my body was there but like I was just watching. I remember looking around the church and thinking about what a great job mum had done with the flowers and how great the bridesmaids looked. Then it came time for the vowels, which we had written ourselves. I got through them a lot better then I though. There were a few tears but I finished them without too much difficulty. Then I was Mrs Stewart!

The rest of the day is kind of a blur, everything just seamed so rushed, I just wanted to stay there all night and hang out with my friends.

Then we were off on out honeymoon… and that’s another story.
